Terms of Service

Effective Date: May 18, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ScreenRight (“ScreenRight,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), including our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use ScreenRight. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of unauthorized access.

3. Your Content

You retain ownership of screenplays, notes, and other creative materials you create or upload (“Your Content”). ScreenRight does not claim ownership of Your Content.

You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service (including AI-assisted features you request).

You represent that you have the rights necessary to upload and use Your Content in the Service.

4. AI Features

Some features use third-party AI providers to analyze or respond to screenplay-related input. Output may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing AI suggestions before relying on them.

ScreenRight does not use Your Content to train proprietary AI models. Third-party providers process data according to their own terms and policies, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Violate applicable laws or third-party rights
  • Upload malware, spam, or abusive content
  • Attempt to access accounts or systems without authorization
  • Reverse engineer or scrape the Service except as permitted by law
  • Interfere with the Service's security, performance, or other users
  • Use the Service to develop competing products through systematic extraction of our software or data

We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms or poses risk to the Service or others.

6. Subscriptions & Billing

Paid plans, trials, and billing are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges according to the plan you select until you cancel.

Trials: If a free trial is offered, you may be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Trial eligibility and length are shown at checkout.

Cancellation: You may cancel through the Stripe customer portal (Manage subscription in account billing) or as otherwise described in the Service. Cancellation typically takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.

Refunds: Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable once a billing period has begun. Contact support if you believe a charge was made in error.

We may change prices or plan features with reasonable notice where required. Continued use after a price change may constitute acceptance.

7. Free Tier & Usage Limits

Free and paid tiers may include limits on screenplays, AI analysis, Cue messages, or other features. Limits are described on our pricing page and may change as we improve the product.

8. Intellectual Property

ScreenRight, including its software, branding, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you rights to our trademarks or brand except as needed to use the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that screenplay formatting, exports, or AI output will meet industry, production, or legal requirements.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCREENRIGHT AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (USD $50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ScreenRight from claims arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends; we may delete or retain data as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the Effective Date above when we do.

Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence apply.

Disputes should first be raised with support@screenright.app. Where permitted, you agree to resolve disputes through binding arbitration or small-claims court as applicable in your jurisdiction.
